The market is growing, but not because of Epstein — here’s the real reason

Two completely unrelated topics suddenly merged into one question that everyone following the market is discussing: why is crypto back in the green zone?

Spoiler: it’s definitely not because Congress published the ‘Epstein files’, but the headlines did their job anyway.

The US House of Representatives voted to publish the ‘Epstein files’

Congress hasn’t voted with such an overwhelming majority in years: 427 representatives approved a bill requiring the Justice Department to declassify archival materials on the Jeffrey Epstein case. Only one vote was against.

The initiative was supported by both Democrats and Republicans. It was introduced by Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna, and now the document goes to the Senate.

Marjorie Taylor Greene called the decision ‘a big victory for everyone who has been waiting for the truth for decades.’ She also promised that, if necessary, she would read all the names ‘from the House floor’ herself.

But despite all the political resonance, the market’s growth is not due to this transparency from Congress.

Michael Saylor is confident that Bitcoin will soon reach a new high

While news about the Epstein files was booming in Washington, Michael Saylor went live on Fox Business with a statement Bitcoin holders were waiting for:

‘That’s normal. Bitcoin has already had 15 major drawdowns and each time it returned to new highs,’ he said.

Then he dropped a phrase that quickly spread across X:

‘It’s just a pullback. Bitcoin will soon reach a new all-time high.’

Saylor added some numbers:

  • Bitcoin has grown on average by 50% per year over the past five years
  • His company Strategy is prepared for drawdowns of up to 80–90%
  • In the long term, BTC could add 30% per year for 20 years
  • And volatility will decrease as Wall Street enters

And, as always in his style:

‘If you want to store money forever without counterparty risk — Bitcoin is now stronger than ever.’

The market seems to agree with him: charts went up, and the total capitalization added about 2%.

Natalie Brunell called Bitcoin a hundred-year investment

Next up was Natalie Brunell, host of Coin Stories. She set the right tone for those worried about the drops:

  • Bitcoin has already survived 12 drawdowns of 25% or more
  • Those who panic just ‘haven’t understood what this asset is yet’
  • She herself has been buying the dips since 2017
  • And she considers Bitcoin the only asset where all 8 billion people can save money, without the risk of inflation and confiscation

A quote that spread even faster than Saylor’s words:

‘Bitcoin is for everyone. And it’s forever.’

The essence is simple: the headlines about Epstein made noise, but Saylor and Brunell set the market in motion.

Yes, the vote on the ‘Epstein files’ took over the political agenda in the US. Yes, the crypto community flooded X with memes, theories, and speculation. But the real reason the market went up is obvious. Saylor turned the mood live on air, Brunell reinforced it, and retail investors remembered what phase of the cycle they’re in.

While politics is brewing a fight for unprecedented transparency, the crypto market continues to live in anticipation of a new all-time high.

As the head of BitMine Tom Lee said earlier:

‘If Bitcoin reaches a new high this year, it will put an end to debates about the four-year cycle.’
