The ZKsync team has launched the Atlas update for its technology stack, ZK Stack. It is designed to provide higher speed and flexibility — primarily for companies and organizations transitioning to on-chain formats.

A key element is the new sequencer. It can process from 25,000 to 30,000 transactions per second and supports compatibility with Ethereum-based applications. The Airbender proof system has also been implemented. It accelerates transaction confirmation and reduces settlement times between networks to fractions of a second.

At Matter Labs they believe these capabilities will help businesses build solutions that combine private control with compatibility in international markets.

Atlas is part of ZKsync‘s strategy to create infrastructure suitable for settlements, tokenized assets, and cross-border transfers.

In addition, the update gives developers more freedom. Support for various virtual machines allows the same code to run both in test environments and on the mainnet. This is especially important for enterprise projects.

Alex Glukhovsky, CEO of Matter Labs, believes that blockchain is ready for the next stage — the corporate one. According to him, ZKsync can give companies the level of flexibility and control they are used to, but with one important difference: security is ensured not by internal IT systems, but by cryptography.

The launch of Atlas is not just an update. It coincides with a time when interest in on-chain solutions from financial giants is breaking records. The fund from BlackRock, fully tokenized on the blockchain, has already surpassed $1 billion. Deutsche Bank is testing digital asset infrastructure together with fintech company Memento. And the cross-border payments market via blockchain is projected to grow to $2 trillion by 2025.

At Matter Labs they are confident that such demand requires a completely different technical base. Atlas was created specifically for these tasks.
