DraftKings announced a partnership with Polymarket after acquiring the CFTC-licensed company Railbird. As part of the deal, Polymarket will become the clearing center for a new regulated prediction market—a move that could boost blockchain adoption in traditional finance.
Regulated predictions and the role of Polymarket
The deal with Railbird allows DraftKings to launch its own prediction platform under the supervision of US regulators. Polymarket, previously known as the largest decentralized prediction platform, will now take on an infrastructural role—settlement and ensuring transaction transparency.
Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan called the collaboration “an important milestone for the entire industry.” According to him, integration with a licensed operator opens the way for legalization and scaling of prediction markets in the US.
Experts note that the combination of DraftKings’ regulated environment and Polymarket’s blockchain infrastructure could attract institutional participants and increase the liquidity of ETH-based settlements.
Growing interest in blockchain infrastructure
The partnership also reflects the increasing integration of Ethereum into the real sector. Regulated prediction markets require reliable settlement and fund storage tools, making Polymarket a key link in the new ecosystem.
According to CoinMarketCap, Ethereum is trading at $3,858 with a market cap of $465 billion. Despite a 19.6% drop in daily volume, investor interest in infrastructural solutions continues to grow.
According to Coincu, the successful integration of Polymarket and DraftKings could serve as an example for other companies seeking to combine the technological advantages of blockchain with the legal transparency of regulated platforms.
What’s next?
Polymarket and DraftKings intend to expand the B2B service model and create standards for legal prediction markets. If the project shows sustainable demand, it could become a turning point for the blockchain prediction sector and strengthen Ethereum’s position as the main settlement network.
