Belarusian Crypto Exchange Whitebird Raises Transaction Limits and Expands VISA Card Support

0 Reading time: 7 min. Сoinspot

The crypto exchange Whitebird has updated its exchange terms: now a single transaction can reach 39,950 BYN, which is approximately 12,000 US dollars, and the list of supported VISA cards has been expanded to include countries that are part of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Belarusian Crypto Exchange Whitebird Raises Transaction Limits and Expands VISA Card Support

Whitebird is a Belarusian online crypto exchange for exchanging digital assets for fiat money and vice versa. For a market where cryptocurrency is increasingly used not only by investors but also by ordinary users, this is a significant change. Whitebird focuses on a simple scenario: a person selects the amount, specifies the digital asset, and receives fiat funds on a card or wallet without unnecessary steps, hidden fees, or additional conversions.

What Has Changed for Whitebird Users

The main update concerns limits. The minimum exchange amount for tokens starts at 35 BYN, which is about 12 dollars, and the upper limit for a single transaction has been raised to 39,950 BYN. For those who do not want to go through multi-step procedures typical of large crypto exchanges, this format looks more direct and understandable.

A bank card remains the key tool for depositing and withdrawing funds. For Russian users, VISA cards of CIS banks and MIR payment system cards are especially important under current conditions: these directions are included in the service’s declared support along with Belkart and Mastercard of Alfa-Bank in Belarus.

Supported cards can be quickly sorted by type:

  • VISA: CIS banks; available for deposit and withdrawal.
  • Belkart: all banks in Belarus; available for deposit and withdrawal.
  • Mastercard: Alfa-Bank cards in Belarus; available for deposit and withdrawal.
  • MIR: MIR payment system cards; available for deposit and withdrawal.

Russia, Belarus, and other markets in the region remain an important audience for such services, as users are accustomed to fast payments and expect the same speed from digital asset transactions.

In the fiat segment, the Belarusian ruble remains the main benchmark for clients, although users often compare amounts to currencies such as the US dollar and euro. In the crypto segment, there is interest in various directions: from Bitcoin to The Open Network ecosystem, and many compare exchange services to exchanges like Binance.

The online digital currency exchange service is available through ; users may also encounter the spelling . In search and communications, you may see options like WHITEBIRD, WhiteBird, and White Bird, but they all refer to the same Whitebird service.

Legal Status and Financial Control

Whitebird has been operating since 2018 and is a resident of the High Technology Park. The company emphasizes that it conducts operations in accordance with Belarusian law and international financial monitoring requirements. For Russian users, this means the service acts as a legal Belarusian crypto exchange: its legal framework is tied to Belarus, HTP, and financial monitoring rules, not separate Russian regulation.

We undergo a Big Four audit every year and implement modern KYC and AML procedures to ensure the security of all operations.

According to the service, in 2025 the number of registered users grew by 28% compared to the previous year. The total exchange volume exceeded 55 million BYN, or about 17 million dollars.

For transactions over 40,000 BYN, the user must confirm their identity and the origin of funds. The verification follows the KYC model and complies with FATF standards. This approach should reduce money laundering risks and increase trust in legal platforms.

Why the Update Matters for the Market

According to Viktor Leshchenko, senior analyst at the Belarusian digital finance center ProFintech, transparent limits and clear verification help legal crypto services build a stable client base.

Legal platforms with transparent limits and KYC procedures build a stable client base and reduce the risks of money laundering.

Viktor Leshchenko believes that the legal crypto exchange market in Belarus could reach 150–200 million BYN in 2025 if companies maintain a balance between convenience, speed, and security.

Whitebird is also developing partnerships with financial institutions and trading platforms. As part of a pilot project with one of the region’s largest trading platforms, users can convert cryptocurrency into electronic certificates for purchases. This scenario brings digital assets closer to everyday payments.

For clients in Minsk and other cities, not only limits are important but also the familiar user experience:

  • Fast transfers.
  • Clear interface.
  • Card payment.
  • Service availability on different devices.

Against the backdrop of services where people are used to Apple Pay, the Fast Payment System project, banking apps, and communications via Instagram, crypto exchanges have to compete not only on rates but also on convenience.

In August 2025, analysts at the Belarusian company Profinvestment included Whitebird among the best crypto exchanges in the country, along with Bynex and Free2ex. According to them, the customer satisfaction rate exceeds 92%, and transaction processing usually takes 3–5 minutes.

Increased limits and support for new cards strengthen Whitebird’s position as an alternative to crypto exchanges for users who need fast and transparent exchange of digital assets for fiat money.
