Bitcoin and Ethereum Stayed in a Narrow Range

The cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) was trading around $65,027 as of 08:45 Moscow time. After midnight, the price rose to $65,400, then pulled back to about $64,800, and after that returned to the $65,000 area.

For market participants from Russia, bitcoin remains the main indicator of sentiment: when it holds without sharp drops, risk appetite in the crypto segment appears more stable. However, investments in digital assets still require caution, especially amid weak intraday volatility.

How the Crypto Market Works

The crypto market is a market for digital assets where users buy, sell, store, and use cryptocurrencies and tokens. Prices here are formed by supply and demand on exchanges: if there are more buyers, the price rises; if sellers are stronger, it falls.

Market capitalization shows the total size of an asset on the market. It is calculated simply: the current price is multiplied by the number of coins or tokens in circulation. Therefore, even calm movement of Bitcoin and Ethereum affects the sentiment of the entire market.

Private investors, active traders, exchanges, token issuers, blockchain projects, market makers, wallets, and custodial services participate in the crypto market. Some hold assets for a long time, others trade intraday, and infrastructure players provide deals, storage, and settlements.

What Assets Are on the Crypto Market

  • Bitcoin — the first and most recognizable cryptocurrency, often used as the main sentiment indicator.
  • Altcoins — all cryptocurrencies except Bitcoin; these include Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Polkadot, and other projects.
  • Stablecoins — tokens whose price is usually pegged to a fiat currency or other underlying asset.
  • Tokens — digital assets within blockchain ecosystems or individual projects.
  • NFTs — unique tokens that confirm rights to a specific digital object or asset.
  • DeFi — the decentralized finance segment, where operations are carried out via smart contracts without traditional intermediaries.

How to Read Market Dynamics

To understand what is happening with the crypto market, people usually look at several levels at once: price, trading volumes, capitalization, news, on-chain data, and participant sentiment. Technical analysis helps to assess the chart and price levels, fundamental analysis — the project, tokenomics, and news, and sentiment analysis — the overall tone of the market.

Declines are most often triggered by regulatory news, large sales, technical failures, weak liquidity, sharp changes in supply and demand, or problems at major participants. Therefore, morning signals from the FCA, Grayscale, and NYSE are just as important as candle movements on a short timeframe.

For safe work with cryptocurrency, it is better to buy assets through trusted platforms, enable two-factor authentication, store long-term positions in reliable wallets, and separately protect the seed phrase. It is more convenient to check current news and analytics via official channels of regulators, exchanges and projects, blockchain explorers, analytics panels, and specialized media.

FCA Prepares Rules for Tokenized Gold

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is negotiating with major banks and market participants on a regulatory framework for tokenized gold. The discussion is taking place amid government interest in making gold turnover faster and more efficient.

New standards may allow tokenized gold to be used as collateral in wholesale markets. For banks, this is important not only as a technological experiment: such an asset in accounting can be recorded in more modern infrastructure and participate in settlements faster.

The rules are expected to be presented in the coming months. London currently provides about 70% of the world's gold trading volume, so British regulators are striving to maintain its role through tokenization and updating market processes.

Grayscale Withdrew Applications for Three Altcoin ETFs

Grayscale Investments abandoned registration statements for three exchange-traded funds on altcoins. The SEC documents indicate RW forms, which remove from the S-1 registration process the Grayscale Cardano Trust ETF, Grayscale Hedera Trust ETF, and Grayscale Polkadot Trust ETF.

In practice, this means a pause in plans to launch these products. The company did not explain the motives in the submitted forms. Previously, Grayscale had already reduced some initiatives on altcoin funds and focused on key products, including the spot Bitcoin ETF.

NYSE Builds On-Chain Platform for Settlements

New York Stock Exchange President Lynn Martin said that the NYSE is developing an on-chain platform for settlements on tokenized securities. In July, the exchange already participated in a tokenization pilot project conducted by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTC).

According to Lynn Martin, the NYSE will continue to study how distributed ledger technology can become the basic infrastructure for global financial markets and connect traditional finance with DeFi. If a stock as a financial instrument or another type of security moves to a tokenized format, such platforms could significantly change post-trading processes.

Regulation and technological infrastructure now affect the crypto market no less than short-term price movements.

For investors, this is another signal: financial infrastructure is changing rapidly, and alongside blockchain, other technological drivers, including artificial intelligence, are increasingly being discussed. Therefore, news from the FCA, Grayscale, and NYSE is just as important as short price signals that spread on Facebook and Instagram.
