Solana Foundation and Google Cloud have launched Pay.sh — a tool through which AI agents will be able to pay for APIs.
The service operates on a pay-as-you-go model. AI agents will be able to automatically pay for data, computing power, and various services using stablecoins on the Solana network. Interest in this format is growing rapidly. Through Pay.sh, AI agents will not only be able to search for APIs but also immediately pay for access to them.
At the same time, users do not need to go through the standard procedure of account registration, identity verification, and billing setup.
The Market Is Moving Toward Payments Between AI Agents
The launch of Pay.sh comes amid growing interest in systems through which AI agents will be able to make payments independently without human involvement. Developers and infrastructure companies are now actively trying to build a system where AI can pay for services on its own, because traditional payment networks were built for entirely different tasks.

Back in March, Rishin Sharma from the Solana Foundation said that the market is gradually starting to see separate payment solutions for AI agents.
“Traditional card networks simply are not suitable for AI agents to conduct transactions properly,” he noted.
According to Sharma, new standards like x402 are trying to solve this problem.
“Now agents can pay for services directly through stablecoins,” he explained.
Google Cloud’s Involvement Makes the Project Significantly More Serious
The addition of Google Cloud has made the project noticeably more serious in the eyes of large businesses. Interest in such tools from big companies is now growing rapidly overall.
Previously, Google Cloud had already integrated Solana network data into BigQuery. This gave developers and companies more convenient access to blockchain analytics.
The head of the Solana Foundation, Dan Albert, stated that the Solana ecosystem has grown significantly recently, and working with data within the network has become easier.
Interest in Payments for AI Agents Is Growing Rapidly
Pay.sh is entering a market where crypto companies and fintech services are developing their own payment systems for transactions between AI agents. This niche is just beginning to develop, but competition in it is already growing quickly.
| Platform | Who Supports | Payment Model | Identification System | Key Features | Limitations |
| Pay.sh | Solana Foundation + Google Cloud | Pay per request (stablecoins) | Crypto wallet | API aggregation, autonomous payments | Early stage of implementation |
| x402 Ecosystem | Coinbase and partners | Pay per request (cryptocurrency) | Crypto wallet | Open protocol for machine-to-machine payments | Limited integration with enterprise cloud services |
| Stripe Tools for AI Agents | Stripe | Pay as you use (fiat) | Account | Advanced billing infrastructure | Accounts required, not suitable for autonomous AI agents |
| Traditional Cloud APIs | Major providers | Subscription / pay as you use | Account + API keys | Established ecosystem | Not designed for autonomous AI agents |

Now everything will depend on two sides — companies that provide APIs and AI agent developers.
The very idea of micropayments and identification through crypto wallets could seriously change how programs interact with digital services. But for now, the market is still at an early stage of development.
According to Rishin Sharma, over time such payment systems may become the foundation for settlements between AI agents.
“In essence, it is through such payment rails that AI agents will interact with each other in the future,” he said.
